How did it go down?

It was pre-covid. Not NEARLY as many cosplay folks as I'd have expected based on photos. But it was still a cool experience.

What made it possible? Any advice?

Stayed at Airbnb and used airline miles to make the trip cheap. Also joined a "group" to purchase tickets cause it's virtually impossible to purchase as an individual. Register for the lottery early so you can have the ability to purchase tickets. Then find a group to purchase tickets with you. If you are in the group and make it through the waiting lobby, you'll buy YOUR tickets and you'll also buy tickets for someone else in the group who will reimburse you for them. Otherwise, they may be buying YOUR tickets and you'll reimburse them. Great system to allow you better odds of getting tickets.
