I have done this. I played ice hockey with my high school girls' team in a tournament in Providence, as I recall. I think I just did this twice. I remember I went to the movies with my friend from growing-up and my teammate Lindsay and saw Seven Years in Tibet when it was released, along with our teammate from Norwood, NY (Potsdam, NY and Norwood combined that year to form a girls' hockey team - The Silver Blades); I think my teammate's name was Kelly, but I can't remember; I also went to Providence to visit Brown University, where I applied for university. I was recruited for Women's Division I ice hockey at Brown. I think I actually visited the Brown University campus twice, once for a college interview. I also went there with the Harvard University women's ice hockey team when I was a right wing for them, and we spent the weekend there. We played Brown University. Another time, I think I went to Providence for an Ani DiFranco concert with my friend and freshman roommate from Harvard Christine Monta. We travelled from Harvard to go there I think freshman year. We took a bus there and back. And, another time, I went to Rhode Island about six times for music festivals. I went to the Newport Folk Festival once in Newport with my friend Rotem Ayalon whom I knew from Potsdam Central Schools, while I was at Harvard and she was at Cornell; and her friend Angela Snell, I think (I knew Angela from Potsdam Central Schools, and she was in a kind of click with Rotem and my friend Denise Atesoglu at Potsdam High; I knew Denise from growing up in Potsdam, NY through our mutual friend LIndsay Wood); Angela Snell went to Cornell at the time, and Rotem, Angela, and I were all living in Boston for the summer on break from university; as I recall, we saw The Indigo Girls there, and I think I went to another music festival in Newport for music with my friend from Potsdam High Marta Minnetyan and her mom; Marta, her Mom, and I saw Dar Williams there and I think Elvis Costello; oh yeah, I went to the Newport Folk Festival a second time in my university years at Harvard when I went there with Rotem, her mom, her dad, and me, I think; and we saw lots of performers, as there are every year - or used to be - at the Newport Folk Festival, including Arlo Guthrie; Marta Minnetyan went to Potsdam State for university, by the way. Angela, Katie Williams, Rotem, and Denise were in a click in high school; Angela Snell and Katie Williams were in the high school class above me. I think I went to three women's festivals, a music festival, and the Newport Folk Festival twice. I just remembered too that I went here once for university hockey with my college team - another time. We played against Providence University. I remember my old teammate from The Silver Blades and girls' hockey in Potsdam and Canton, NY Erin Cannon played for Providence. I think I saw her and talked to her a little bit at the Providence game, but I don't remember. Christa Bergman Brown
