Never give up the dream...I had a dream to go to Paris in 8th grade. In 9th grade I studied French for 4 years and was a star student for 4 years. A year after I graduated high school I got married and had a baby and got divorced, life got in the way financially. After almost 45 years I finally saved enough money to go to Paris in December 2011 when my husband collapsed from a blood clot to the lungs, his diagnosis was severe stage COPD and congestive heart failure. His health is shortlived. Without his income I used all of my "Paris trip" money to keep our home and the bill collectors away. In 2008 my mother passed away and my little brother who has Down Syndrome moved in with me so that I could take of him, he'll be 49 Valentine's Day. He has congestive heart failure( born with a hole in his heart) but he has been doing great with the medicine no problems. I want him to come with me. We recently lost my brother at Christmas at 61(brain cancer), we lost another brother six months after my mom at 64(pontine stroke), and another brother the following year at 58(heart failure). I'm in my early 60s(liver disease(stage 3 fibrosis), osteoarthritis). If you've ever gone on a trip or vacation you want to be happy not sad when you go. I want to go before I lose someone else in my family or can't walk and not be able to enjoy my life long dream. I have never given up on my goals but I want to be able to go while I'm able to walk. My dream is to go while I'm able to enjoy it...is that a selfish wish? I have been a caretaker for my family most of my life, I just want to give myself something, and my little brother is my pal. We go everywhere together. I cannot imagine leaving him at home and honestly I have no one to leave him with that could care for him. Every year I get something for Christmas from friends and family about Paris. Last year I got a stainless steel key chain of the Eiffel Tower. Each year I felt like I was getting closer but now it seems so far out of reach. But I keep reaching for it... @traceyk
