Before I die I want to...
Learn To Fly

Ever since I was a baby I've fantasized about flying through the sky and the freedom that that brings. My biggest inspiration growing up was my dad who was a flight engineer for 23 years, mostly on C130s, in the USAF. Later on he went on to get his private and commercial pilots license. He has always had a deep passion for anything that defied gravity whether that be planes, helicopters, gliders, rockets, space shuttles, etc.. and it's quite obvious too because he is usually a very quiet man but once you mention anything about the subject he will talk your ear off! I guess that passion resonated deeply on me growing up (or maybe it's just in the DNA haha). My favorite picture of me as a kid has to be when I was around 2 years old I was in a flight suit playing with two model c130s in the driveway of our house in Florida I probably had no idea what I was looking at but I can tell I was one happy baby! Being in a military family I also had the chance to experience plenty of plane rides and every time we flew I would always want to sit next to the window because the view of looking down on the clouds and people and landscapes no matter what always took my breath away. I always thought about being a bird and being able to freely soar through the sky and experience that sight anytime I wanted. At age 17 as soon as I left high school behind I decided to follow in my fathers footsteps and join the USAF. As I'm writing this I'm currently 19 enlisted as a 2T251 (air transportation) in Kadena AFB Okinawa, Japan and even though I get the chance to work closely with planes by loading and servicing them, which is great don't get me wrong, I always get a sense of disappointed when I watch them take off due simply to the fact that I'm not on them seeing the world from a bird's eye view.
