I researched something to do while I was staying at CC's Hideaway in Phuket, Thailand for a yoga retreat. There was this loud and invasive American that was on a tour that was included with my retreat that I just couldn't stand to be around for multiple days on end. I should be thankful for her though. If she had not been so insufferable, I would have just gone about staying with the activities that were included and never ventured out to do this Bioluminescence tour to James Bond Island. We went out and we did a canoe through these caves that you had to duck to get in and out, swam in lagoons and at nightfall after dinner, he took us into the cove and we saw the plankton. It was a Waning Crescent so not completely dark or full, but maybe 40 % so we saw the white kind. It was not blue. It looked like glitter and diamonds. I drew the alphabet and my name. The coolest was when he came up and scooped it in his shirt. You couldn't get photos or video of the white kind, but it was really cool and I'd love to see the blue kind or more of the green and other types one day.
